Colonnade Dining Table

Every great dining table has a base worth talking about. The Colonnade gives you eight of them.

Two clusters of four solid cylindrical columns — rich smoked walnut, their surfaces smooth and round, standing shoulder to shoulder like a miniature colonnade — support a long asymmetric top that narrows at one end and curves gently at the other, its organic outline a deliberate counterpoint to the repetitive discipline of the columns below. The top overhangs the bases on all sides, its flat surface generous and uninterrupted, the warm dark walnut grain running long across every plank.

The columns are the conversation. Grouped in fours, they create a rhythm beneath the table — shadow and highlight alternating between each cylinder, the light playing across the cluster differently at every hour. From the end of the table, they read as a single sculptural form. From the side, they reveal their individuality.
