There is a reason columns have held things up for thousands of years. The Column remembers.

Two tall reeded oak cylinders — their surfaces carved in tight vertical fluting from base to top — rise from the floor and meet a long oval marble slab above, its rounded ends overhanging the pillars on all sides with the easy confidence of stone that knows its own weight. The reeding catches light in thin parallel lines down the full height of each column, giving the legs a texture and depth that plain turned wood simply cannot replicate. In pale bleached oak, they read almost classical — ancient in reference, entirely current in execution.

The marble top is white and quietly veined, its underside bevelled to a clean thin edge that makes the slab appear lighter than its considerable mass. The contrast between the cool stone and the warm pale wood below is the whole conversation of the piece — two materials that have always belonged together, finally meeting at the right table.

Placed against panelling, it is a complete composition. Placed anywhere else, it creates one.
