Grey and walnut. Cool and warm. The Layer is a study in contrast that always resolves itself beautifully.

A wide, softly curved backrest wraps forward into open arms — not quite a barrel, not quite a simple back — somewhere in between, holding your shoulders without enclosing them. The mist grey linen sits taut and smooth across the surface, a quiet, woven tone that shifts between blue and grey depending on the light. Below, a slim saddle seat in the same fabric curves gently downward at the centre, shaped to the body rather than forcing the body to adapt.

The dark walnut frame carries it all — four slender tapered legs, visible side rails, and the clean horizontal join between upholstery and wood that gives the chair its name. The contrast between the pale fabric above and the rich walnut below is the design. It does not ask you to choose between warmth and cool — it offers both, simultaneously, at a dining table.
