The Refectory draws from a tradition that predates the dining room itself — the long monastery table, built not for aesthetics but for gathering, for permanence, for the kind of meal that lasts until the candles burn low. Two substantial turned and stepped pedestal columns rise from wide flat feet, joined at the base by a solid trestle stretcher that locks the whole structure into something unmovable and reassuring. The columns are classical in reference — bracketed at the shoulder, stepped at the base — the kind of detail that takes skill to produce and time to appreciate.

Above, a wide plank-top in aged oak spreads generously, its grain knotted and characterful, the warm brown tone carrying the depth of timber that has been properly finished rather than merely stained. The extending leaves sit flush and seamless — the table growing from six to ten without losing a single line.

This is a table for big families, long lunches, and rooms that can handle something genuinely substantial.
