A thick square slab of white Carrara marble — heavily veined, generously proportioned — sits directly above a smoked oak cross base that is as structural as it is striking. Two wide oak panels intersect at right angles, their rich warm grain running floor to ceiling of the base, meeting in a precise central joint that locks the whole piece together without a single fixing on show. The base is solid and grounded, its dark smoked tone a deliberate counterpoint to the cool white stone above.

The marble overhang is generous on all sides — the slab wider than the base below, floating above it with just enough cantilever to feel architectural. The veining moves naturally across the surface, grey on white, no two tops the same.

Dark and light. Stone and wood. Mass and precision. The Slab does not attempt subtlety — and is more interesting for it.
