Two hourglass-shaped plaster pedestals — wide at the base, narrowing at the waist, swelling again at the shoulder before meeting the top — carry a long washed oak plank surface above them with a quiet sculptural authority. The pedestals are matte chalk white, smooth and architectural, their curved silhouette giving the base a formal elegance that the raw, open-grained oak above deliberately resists. The tension between the two is the whole point — refined form below, honest material above, neither one winning, both coexisting.

The oak top is pale and washed, its grain pronounced and characterful, the natural figuring of the wood visible across every plank. It extends seamlessly at the centre, the join barely perceptible, growing from six seats to eight without disturbing the surface.
